The Car Company was founded by Shane and Sarah Drummond in 1996. They have steered The Car Company from a single location to 4 great car sales yards and a fully equipped Service Centre since that time. Their genuine desire to support the community which supports The Car Company has resulted in a large number sponsorships in the Nelson region including Rugby, Cricket, Basketball, Softball, Hockey, Bowls, Nelson Harness Racing, Nelson Womens Refuge, Nelson College, Nelson Intermediate and more.

Shane is a past board member of the Tasman Rugby Union which has the Tasman Makos playing in the ITM Cup and Nelson Cricket and he remains very active in both sports. 

Shane is supported by a very able administrative team who are also committed to providing guidance and support to each branch. This is to ensure each customers experiences great support throughout and after purchasing a motor vehicle from The Car Company.

The Car Company is very proud to support The Nelson Women's Refuge all year round - helping put a stop to Domestic Violence in our community. We also do a month long appeal around September/October, collecting in the streets, quiz nights, auctions etc.  In our first year, our month long appeal raised over $16,000.00 and we can't wait to see how much we raise this year.
