Why We Chose to Support Victory Boxing
When looking for community organisations to partner with, we weren't simply searching for visibility. We wanted to support a programme that is genuinely making a difference in Nelson.
Victory Boxing has built a reputation for providing a safe, respectful, and healthy environment for young people aged 8 to 18 from all backgrounds. Through their programmes, participants learn much more than boxing techniques. They develop important life skills including:

A Community Success Story
Victory Boxing was established with a simple but powerful goal: to have a positive impact on young people in the community by teaching life skills, honesty, determination, respect, caring, and responsibility.
What started with just 20 children in its first year has grown into one of Nelson's most successful community programmes. Since moving to its premises on Vanguard Street in 2013, Victory Boxing has expanded significantly and now has more than 400 registered children participating in its programmes.
One of the great strengths of Victory Boxing is its ability to evolve and meet the needs of the community. Alongside its youth programmes, Victory Boxing offers adult fitness and boxing classes, women's-only classes, social fitness sessions, specialised programmes for adults living with Parkinson's Disease, classes for breast cancer survivors, and partnerships with local schools and community groups.
Their continued growth is a testament to the positive impact they have on local families and the wider Nelson community.
Celebrating at the Victory Boxing Auction Night
The partnership was recently highlighted at Victory Boxing's fundraising auction night, an inspiring event that brought together local businesses, community leaders, supporters, and athletes for a fantastic cause.
The Car Company's Shane Drummond and Ben Brownie were honoured to be part of the evening and to officially hand over the keys to Victory Boxing's new BYD Shark 6.
It was an exciting night filled with generosity, community spirit, and stories of resilience and success. Congratulations to everyone who participated in the auction and to all the winners on the night. Most importantly, every dollar raised will help Victory Boxing continue providing a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for people throughout our community.
A special thank you goes to MC Stacey Morrison, who did a fantastic job hosting the evening. Guests were also treated to inspiring stories and insights from an incredible lineup of speakers, including boxing legend Shane Cameron, world champion boxer Lani Daniels, rugby league great Ruben Wiki, and Kiwi actor Cohen Holloway.
Events like these demonstrate the incredible support Victory Boxing receives from the community and highlight the positive impact the organisation continues to have across Nelson.
